Refund Policy for Paid Bookings

Last updated: 2 November 2026

This policy explains what happens to your payment when you pay a host for a booking through TimeTide, and the booking is cancelled or moved. It doesn't cover TimeTide's own Pro and Team plans, which are in our Terms of Service. Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights as a consumer.

1. Overview

Some hosts on TimeTide charge for their bookings. When you pay for a booking, you pay the host, through their own Stripe account. Stripe processes the payment, and TimeTide never sees or stores your card details. Refunds under this policy are made automatically: you don't need to ask for them.

2. The Host's Cancellation Policy

Each paid event has a cancellation policy, set by the host and shown before you pay. It is one of these:

  • A full refund any time before the start.
  • A full refund until a set time before the start, such as 24 hours, and after that either no refund or half of what you paid.
  • No refunds: you don't get your payment back if you cancel.

Your refund follows the policy shown when you paid, even if the host changes it later. Your confirmation email and your booking page give the exact date and time of your full-refund deadline.

3. When the Host Cancels

If the host cancels your booking, you get a full refund, whenever they cancel and whatever their policy.

4. How to Cancel

Use the cancel link in your confirmation email, or the booking page it opens. The page shows how much you'll get back before you confirm, and you'll get an email confirming the cancellation and the refund. You can cancel until the booking starts. Once it has started, only the host can cancel it, so please contact them.

5. Moving a Booking

  • You can move a paid booking to another time yourself until its full-refund deadline. Your payment moves with it, and the new time has its own deadline.
  • After the deadline you can't move it yourself, because moving it would give it a new deadline and a refund the policy no longer gives. You can still cancel it under the policy, or ask the host, who can move it for you.
  • If the policy gives a full refund any time before the start, or no refunds, you can move the booking yourself until it starts.
  • Once a booking has started, only the host can change it.

6. How Refunds Are Paid

Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. They usually appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. If your card has been closed, your bank may refuse the refund; the host then has to pay you back another way.

7. Refunds Outside the Policy

If you think you should get more back than the policy gives, contact the host first: only they can agree to it. Hosts can refund you at any time from their Stripe account, and you'll get an email when they do. You can also contact us at hello@timetide.app, and we'll pass your request on, but the decision is the host's. Please don't send card details by email.

8. Disputes and Payments You Don't Recognise

If you don't recognise a payment, contact your bank. While a dispute is open, no refund is made through TimeTide, so you aren't paid twice; the bank's decision settles it. Stripe and the card networks handle disputes, and the host answers them in their Stripe account.

9. Changes and Contact

We may update this policy by publishing a new version on this page. A change doesn't alter the cancellation policy of a booking you have already paid for. Questions: hello@timetide.app.
