TimeTide integrates with Zoom to automatically create, update, and delete Zoom meetings when bookings are made, rescheduled, or cancelled. This documentation covers how to connect, use, and disconnect the Zoom integration.
Table of Contents
1. Adding the App — How to Connect Zoom
To connect your Zoom account to TimeTide, you will need an active Zoom account. Follow these steps:
- Log in to TimeTide — Sign in to your TimeTide account at timetide.app.
- Go to Integrations — Navigate to your Dashboard → Settings → Integrations.
- Click "Connect Zoom" — Find the Zoom integration card and click the connect button.
- Authorize via Zoom — You will be redirected to Zoom's authorization page. Sign in to your Zoom account and grant TimeTide the required permissions.
- Confirmation — Once authorized, you will be redirected back to TimeTide. A confirmation message will indicate that your Zoom account is now connected.
Troubleshooting
If the authorization fails or you encounter an error, try logging out of Zoom in your browser and then reconnecting from TimeTide. If the issue persists, please contact our support team at hello@timetide.app.
2. Using the App — How It Works
Once your Zoom account is connected, TimeTide automatically manages Zoom meetings for your bookings.
Prerequisites
Before TimeTide can create Zoom meetings for your bookings, the following must be true:
- You have an active Zoom account (Basic, Pro, Business, or Enterprise)
- Your Zoom account is connected to TimeTide (see Section 1)
- The Event Type used for the booking has its Location set to Zoom in your TimeTide dashboard
- The host (or designated meeting organizer in team events) is the account that has connected Zoom
Automatic Meeting Management
- Booking confirmed: When a booking is confirmed, TimeTide automatically creates a Zoom meeting and includes the meeting link in the booking confirmation email sent to both you and your attendee.
- Booking rescheduled: When a booking is rescheduled, the associated Zoom meeting is automatically updated with the new date and time.
- Booking cancelled: When a booking is cancelled, the Zoom meeting is automatically deleted from your Zoom account.
Data Access & Permissions
TimeTide requests only the minimum permissions necessary to manage meetings on your behalf:
- Create, update, and delete Zoom meetings
- Access basic user profile information (name and email) to associate meetings with your account
TimeTide does not access or store any Zoom recordings, attendance data, participant information, chat messages, or any other data beyond what is listed above. OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and are refreshed automatically to maintain a secure connection.
3. Removing the App — How to Disconnect Zoom
You can disconnect Zoom from TimeTide at any time:
Disconnect from TimeTide
- Navigate to your Dashboard → Settings → Integrations.
- Find the Zoom integration card and click "Disconnect Zoom".
- This disconnects your Zoom account and revokes TimeTide's access token.
What Happens After Disconnecting
- Future bookings will no longer automatically generate Zoom meeting links.
- Existing Zoom meetings that were already created will remain in your Zoom account unless you manually delete them.
Data Removal on Disconnect
When you disconnect Zoom from TimeTide, the following happens immediately:
- Your OAuth access token is revoked with Zoom via Zoom's
/oauth/revokeendpoint - Your encrypted OAuth access token and refresh token are permanently deleted from TimeTide's database
- Your Zoom user ID reference is permanently deleted from TimeTide's database
- No further API calls can be made to Zoom on your behalf
TimeTide does not retain any backup or cached copy of your Zoom credentials. If you later reconnect, you will be required to complete the full OAuth authorization flow again.
Note: Zoom meetings that were created prior to disconnection are not deleted automatically from your Zoom account. If you wish to remove them, you can do so manually from your Zoom dashboard.
Remove from Zoom Directly
You can also remove TimeTide's access directly from the Zoom App Marketplace:
- Go to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Click Manage → Installed Apps.
- Find TimeTide and click "Remove".
